I was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam but currently live in Da Nang City. I turned vegan about 2 years ago after watching a documentary film about cruelty in the meat and dairy product industry. I come from a technical background and have worked for big enterprises in IT/Network/Manufacturing for the last 10 years. However, none of these works made me feel like I'm contributing to making the world a kinder and better place. That's why I decided to join AAA as a Tech Coordinator and hope to use technology to make our world a better place for all kinds of animals and human beings.
-
Yuki Takahashi (he/him)
Japan Coordinator
Raised in Japan, I went to the US for high school aiming to be an astronaut. I completed a PhD degree in astrophysics in Berkeley, but the most important thing I gained there was a single leaflet about the reality of farmed animals. I stopped buying meat, eggs, and dairy, but my dream for space travel remained strong, so I went on to work on spaceships at SpaceX, etc. After working in places like Antarctica, Greenland, and Midway Atoll, I couldn't help but feel that the animal exploitation issues are more urgent than anything else. I then interned at organizations like THL, Vegan Outreach, Farm Sanctuary, and GFI. Feeling that I can contribute the most back in Japan, I helped with Animal Rights Center Japan for 3.5 years before joining AAA.
